***ATTENTION BEGINNING BAND PARENTS***
Beginning Band at APMS is comprised of students in 5th-8th grade with no experience playing a band instrument. Recruitment and registration for this ensemble occurs in September of each school year. This band rehearses before school from 7:00am-7:35am in the APMS band room and 5th grade students also have one pull-out lesson per week. Rehearsals begin in mid-October and meet for the entire school year. Students in this ensemble will perform in the APMS Winter and Spring Band Concerts.
Why Should I Rent-To-Own Rather Than Buy?
In this day and age of practically anything being available to purchase on the internet, instruments are no exception to this convenience. Unfortunately there are many sub-par instruments available to non-suspecting patrons on the internet. Just as you wouldn't purchase a car without test-driving it or having a mechanically-trained technician look it over before purchase, the same can be said for the purchase of instruments. Used instruments are certainly a viable option as long as they can be tested by a trained musician prior to purchase to ensure proper maintenance has been completed. If going through a reputable local music store, this can certainly be arranged. Please contact Mrs. Lake-Becker for suggestions or additional information.
While the decision to rent or buy is ultimately up to the parent, it is highly encouraged that parents "rent-to-own" rather than buy. Watch the video below for the benefits of the "rent-to-own" program through Quinlan and Fabish.
